Private Tour of the Andes Cordillera Real
The adventure begins at 8 am, when we will collect you from your accommodation in La Paz and head towards the Andes, the dominant mountain chain along the western expanse of South America.
This exploration will cover the stunning region situated within the Bolivian highlands, specifically the Cordillera Real, located southeast of Lake Titicaca, extending across 75 miles (120 kilometers).
Reaching an elevation of over 16,400 feet (5,000 meters) at Chacaltaya peak, you will have the opportunity to marvel at panoramic views of the surrounding mountain range and Lake Titicaca on clear days.
As we traverse this remarkable area, you'll be treated to stunning Andean scenery and the brilliant blue lagoons of the Zongo Valley. Our journey will include a visit to the ancient Aymara cemetery of Milluni, where you'll uncover the fascinating history of this site, including its tombs built to resemble houses.
We'll pause during our adventure for a soothing coca tea at a mountain lodge. Following this, you'll embark on a 45-minute hike toward the base of Huayna Potosí, another iconic peak within the Cordillera Real.
When the hike concludes, we will return to the minibus and make our way back to La Paz, arriving at your hotel by approximately 4 pm.
