Moon Valley and Chacaltaya Mountain Experience

We will commence our adventure in the morning with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in central La Paz, followed by a scenic drive towards Chacaltaya Mountain. After traversing the striking landscapes of the Bolivian altiplano for approximately two hours, we will reach the mountain's base camp.

Here, a brief hike of about 650 feet will lead us to the peak. From this vantage point, brace yourself for one of the most spectacular panoramic vistas in Bolivia, where the contrast between snow-blanketed summits and the rugged Bolivian terrain creates a stunning backdrop. After you’ve had the chance to snap some memorable photos, we'll descend from Chacaltaya and continue our journey to the renowned Moon Valley.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a leisurely exploration of this enchanting region on foot. Presented with a more manageable altitude compared to other Bolivian sites, our walk will be comfortable. With the guidance of our expert, we will delve into the fascinating geology of the rock formations and the intriguing history that inspired the valley's name.

Our excursion culminates as we head back to La Paz in the early afternoon, concluding at the Plaza de San Francisco.
