Two-Day Gulf of Fonseca Excursion

First Day

Our journey begins at 12 pm, where we will gather at 5A Avenida Norte in La Unión to kick off our 2-day expedition to the Gulf of Fonseca, widely recognized as one of the most stunning natural harbors globally and a true paradise in El Salvador.

Our initial stop is the protected zone of the Conchagua volcano, providing us with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the region. Alternatively, if you wish, you can opt during your booking to visit Las Tunas beach instead, an ideal setting for a soothing day under the sun.

Next, we’ll enjoy a guided exploration of the Conchagua village. Did you know that this area is home to some of the oldest churches in El Salvador? Additionally, we will visit a local market where you can savor 'pupusas', a cherished regional delicacy.

As the day winds down, we’ll return to La Unión for an overnight stay.

Second Day

Following a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to the harbor to board our boat for an adventurous sail across the Pacific. Are you ready to discover the islands of the Gulf of Fonseca?

Our journey begins at Meanguera Island. Here, we’ll spend half an hour exploring its terrain while our guide shares insights about its volcanic history and the unique convergence of the borders of El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. You’ll be stepping into three countries simultaneously!

Next, we’ll set sail for Zacatillo Island, where we’ll have a two-hour stop to indulge in its culinary delights and relish the scenic beauty at your own pace. The final destination of our tour will be Conejo Island, a charming spot from which we’ll make our way back to La Unión.

The tour concludes at the same location where our adventure began on the first day.
