Details of the Day Trip

During your stay in Punta Cana, experiencing a visit to Los Haitises National Park is essential, showcasing some of the Dominican Republic’s finest landscapes. At your chosen time, we will pick you up from your accommodation and journey towards Sabana de la Mar.

En route, we will pause to allow you to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim at the beach. Upon reaching Sabana de la Mar, we’ll embark on a boat for a scenic voyage through the remarkable mangroves of the Caño Hondo River, culminating in San Lorenzo Bay.

This journey, lasting around 2.5 hours, offers views of the dramatic karst mogotes, lush red mangrove forests, and various bird species, including the brown pelican and the magnificent frigatebird.

Next, we’ll explore Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Línea, well-known for their historical significance within Los Haitises. Inside these caves, you will find ancient pictographs and petroglyphs that reveal the rich heritage of the locale. Following this, we’ll embark on a kayaking adventure through the serene canals of the park.

Our day continues at the natural pools of Paraíso Caño Hondo, offering you the opportunity to swim in a stunningly beautiful setting. When hunger strikes, enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch featuring an array of delicious dishes, including rice, beans, fish, chicken, and tostones.

Post-lunch, we’ll navigate the terrain in an off-road vehicle to Montaña Redonda, where you’ll pause at a breathtaking viewpoint that promises to leave you in awe.

Finally, we will return to the initial meeting point, completing this enriching 8- to 9-hour experience back at your hotel.

Optional Visit to The Yanigua Waterfalls

For those seeking a more immersive adventure, an optional add-on for a visit to the Yanigua Waterfalls is available at the time of booking. Here, you can revel in nature while soaking in the clear waters. A refreshing swim is also an option!

This visit to the waterfalls follows lunch, with the trip concluding at Montaña Redonda. After a fulfilling 12-hour excursion, we will return you to the starting point.

It is important to note that the minimum age for this option is 6 years.
