Trip Overview

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Launceston at the scheduled time, as we journey south-west through lush farmlands and alongside the magnificent Great Western Tiers. On the way, we will pass through the charming historic settlements of Carrick, Hagley, and Westbury, as well as the artistic town of Deloraine, renowned for its crafts.

Our first destination is Sheffield, famously called the mural town. Here, you’ll enjoy a 30-minute stroll to appreciate over 140 artworks adorning the buildings, each narrating the rich history and character of the Cradle Mountain area. You will be captivated by the creativity!

The tour continues to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, where we will uncover the park's mysteries. Explore informative exhibits, wander through the native gardens, and embark on a brief journey along the Enchanted Forest Walk, which leads to a picturesque pine grove and a tranquil waterfall.

Next, we will arrive at the renowned Dove Lake, where a guided one-hour tour awaits. This segment of the tour provides stunning vistas of Cradle Mountain, a jewel of Tasmania's World Heritage site. Trek along Glacier Rock and uncover a quartz beach, soaking in the magnificence of the natural landscape.

Following this, we will head to the Ashgrove Cheese Dairy Door Cheese Farm, where you will gain insight into the art of cheesemaking in Tasmania and savor various delectable samples. After our visit, we will enjoy lunch in a scenic park hut.

With renewed energy, we will delve deeper into the wonders of Cradle Mountain. A trek through the enchanting Weindorfers Forest will immerse us in the tranquility and diverse wildlife of the area. Keep your eyes peeled for wombats, wallabies, and potaroos, some of the cutest residents of the park.

Finally, we will make our way back to Launceston, dropping you off at your hotel after around 10 hours filled with exploration and discovery.
