Packrafting in the Colorado River Canyon

Packrafting Overview

At the agreed time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Liberia and head towards the Colorado River canyon. After a swift 10-minute ride, we will arrive at the river's source, situated in the heart of Guanacaste. Are you ready to begin?

We will provide all the essential packrafting gear, along with a briefing on safety protocols and the pathway we will navigate through the canyon. The individual inflatable rafts we use are designed for easy maneuverability. Before long, we will be drifting down the class I and II rapids. Keep paddling to maintain your momentum!

This scenic 2-kilometer (1.24-mile) journey will take around 2 hours and immerse you in extraordinary Costa Rican landscapes. Towering canyon walls of approximately 10 meters (32 ft) will flank us, adorned with petroglyphs that date back over 1500 years. As we glide along, you may spot howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and a variety of native bird species.

Once our adventure concludes, you will have access to showers in a nearby area, as well as a shop offering refreshing beverages. Finally, we will board our vehicle for the return journey to your hotel, concluding a memorable 4 to 5 hours of exploration.
