Embark on a remarkable day trip to Nevado Raura, where the vibrant hues of lagoons and majestic mountain peaks await. To cap off our adventure, we'll unwind in the soothing hot springs of Churín.
Activity Overview
We will convene at the designated meeting point in Lima to kick off our journey to Nevado Raura. The first leg takes us to the village of Quichas, a scenic 5.5-hour drive ahead. Let the adventure begin!
Midway through our travels, we will pause in Sayán. This is an opportune moment to disembark and stretch your legs. As dawn breaks, we will stop in Viroc, famous for its iconic arch and a chance to pick up some local crafts.
Upon arrival at our main destination, a thrilling trekking route sets the stage for an ascent to a striking altitude of 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) above sea level. Our path leads us to the enchanting Suerococha lagoon, ideal for participating in the Andean ritual known as Payment to the Earth. Here, the stunning Nevado León Dormido stands as a breathtaking highlight of the Raura Mountain Range, offering a view that will truly awe you. Continuing on, we’ll pass the Azulcocha Lagoon, renowned as the Lagoon of the Seven Colours, with its captivating frozen waters and diverse hues.
After approximately 4 hours of hiking, we will reach the Nevado Raura, granting you free time to soak in the remarkable snowy landscape. Don’t miss the opportunity to capture this moment with your camera!
Our journey resumes with a final hour and a half trek back to our transport. Before heading to Lima, we will pause in Churín for a leisurely lunch. Following the meal, indulge in a refreshing experience at the hot springs of Churín. Enjoy 40 minutes of relaxation at Baños de la Juventud, Mamahuarmi, or Tingo—a fitting end to an unforgettable day!
Rejuvenated and relaxed, we will continue our return journey, reaching the original meeting point around 9 pm, where we will bid farewell.

- Calle Comercio in San Borja at 10 pm
- Plaza Norte in Independencia at 10:50 pm

Important information
In order to be picked up, you'll have to go to one of the following points at the indicated time:
- Calle Comercio, behind the Museo de la Nación (San Borja) at 10 pm
- Panamericana Norte main gate of Plaza Norte, in front of the Metro (Independencia) at 10:50 pm
The day before the activity, the local team will contact you to confirm the exact pickup time. In any case, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the event.
Important Info
Please keep in mind that we'll reach an altitude of over 5,000 metres (16,404 ft) above sea level, so we recommend taking a pill for altitude sickness, such as Sorojchi Pill.
We also recommend bringing a blanket, trekking shoes, comfortable and warm clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, water and snacks for the hike, and cash.
