When making your reservation, you will have the opportunity to select from the following options:

Standard Experience (2 to 2.5 Hours)

We will gather at the designated time at the Praça do Império Garden, located in the center of Belém. Your guide will introduce you to the Age of Discovery and discuss the significance of Belém as the departure point for Portugal's legendary maritime ventures.

Next, we will focus on the highlight of our visit: the Jerónimos Monastery, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have the chance to explore its most remarkable areas while learning about the intricate Manueline architecture, its meanings, and its connection to notable historical figures.

A visit to Belém isn’t complete without enjoying a pastel de Belém, a famous custard tart, which you will have the opportunity to savor during the tour.

Additionally, we will admire several nearby attractions from the exterior, including the Monument to the Discoveries and the Map of the Discoveries.

The tour will conclude outside the Jerónimos Monastery after approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Extended Experience (3 to 4 Hours)

We will meet at the nearby Jerónimos Monastery. Following a brief orientation, we will enter this impressive Manueline-style monastery. Get ready to dive into the history that makes this UNESCO World Heritage Site essential to understanding Belém’s pivotal role in Portugal's past.

Inside, we will discover the monastery's key areas, learning about its importance and its impact on Portuguese culture during the maritime explorations of the 15th and 16th centuries.

Our journey will also take us to the Church of Santa Maria de Belém, a stunning example of Manueline architecture that fuses late Gothic and Renaissance styles. This church serves as the final resting place for notable personalities such as King Manuel I, his son João III, explorer Vasco da Gama, and poet Luís de Camões.

After exploring the monastery, we will continue our walk through Belém, stopping first at the famous Pastéis de Belém bakery for a delightful custard tart, crafted from a secret recipe by the monastery’s monks since the 19th century.

We will then proceed to the Monument to the Discoveries, which commemorates the 500th anniversary of Prince Henry the Navigator's death in 1960. This monument honors key historical figures who played instrumental roles in expanding Portuguese presence around the world.

Our final visit will be to the iconic Belém Tower, another UNESCO World Heritage Site that functioned as a defensive structure to protect Lisbon’s harbor.

We will conclude our experience at Belém Tower after 3 to 4 hours.
