A Marine Paradise in Parque das Nações
Nestled in the Parque das Nações, the Lisbon Oceanarium was unveiled during the Expo '98 under the theme "The Oceans: A Heritage for the Future."
Designed by renowned architect Peter Chermayeff, this aquarium has gained recognition as one of the world's top aquariums and ranks as the second largest across Europe. Within its walls, you will encounter an astounding 15000 creatures representing 500 marine species, featuring highlights such as ocean sunfish, manta rays, stingrays, sea otters, and sharks.
Inclusions
The Lisbon Oceanarium has become one of Portugal's must-visit cultural sites, attracting roughly one million visitors annually. Your ticket grants you access to all areas, encompassing both permanent and rotating exhibitions, making it an ideal outing for families!
Discover the Wonders of the Lisbon Oceanarium
Over the course of about 2 hours, you'll navigate various galleries with the pinnacle of the aquarium's permanent exhibition showcasing a massive central tank where tuna, seahorses, unicorn fish, and numerous ocean-dwelling species can be observed swimming gracefully. Are you aware that the aquarium's tanks hold 7 million liters of water? Truly remarkable!
