Night Trip to Fátima + Candlelight Procession

During this evening excursion to Fátima, you'll explore one of the most renowned Marian sanctuaries globally and participate in the iconic Candlelight Procession.

Journey Overview

On the scheduled travel day, we will gather at Praça Marquês de Pombal, where we'll board a minibus to commence our voyage to Fátima.

After approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes of travel, we will arrive at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, a significant pilgrimage destination recognized worldwide.

Your first destination will be the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where you can view the notable graves of the three shepherds who reported having divine visions with the Virgin Mary here in 1917.

Next, we'll visit the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity and the Chapel of the Apparitions, which features a pedestal marking the site of the Virgin Mary's appearance to the young shepherds.

At 9:30 pm, the inspirational Candlelight Procession will begin from this sacred space. This ritual features the procession of the original Virgin of Fátima statue, accompanied by the recitation of the Rosary.

During this significant occasion, the gathered pilgrims will follow the Virgin silently, holding lit candles as her statue makes its way across the esplanade, returning to the chapel. The ambiance created by the flickering candlelight and the recitation of the Rosary envelops the night in a profoundly emotional and powerful experience.

Upon the completion of the procession, which lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes, we will return to Lisbon, arriving back at the initial meeting point about 5 to 6 hours after departure.
