Enjoy a captivating day excursion from Lisbon as we embark on a guided exploration of the renowned Pena Palace and the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira in the picturesque town of Sintra. Our journey will also take us to the stunning Cabo da Roca and the vibrant coastal town of Cascais.

Details of the Day Trip

At the arranged time, we will gather in the center of Lisbon to begin our short journey to Sintra, just a 30-minute drive from the capital.

Upon arrival in Sintra, our guided tour of the historic heart of this enchanting village will commence, showcasing numerous attractions. We will admire the exterior of the National Palace of Sintra, which features an initial Arabic architectural style enhanced in the 15th century with Manueline influences. Interestingly, this site is part of the World Heritage List.

Subsequently, we will delve into the intriguing Quinta da Regaleira Palace, known for its rich history, hidden stories, and intriguing symbols. The grounds include picturesque gardens filled with exotic flora, cascading waterfalls, magical grottoes, and a notable initiatory well.

Next on our itinerary is an in-depth exploration of the Pena National Park and the iconic Pena Palace, which stands as one of the most significant landmarks in Sintra and a popular destination in Portugal. This palace was the summer residence of Portuguese royalty in the 19th century, and we will uncover fascinating narratives associated with its history!

If you are feeling peckish, you will have some leisure time to enjoy lunch in Sintra after our visit to Quinta da Regaleira. Following this, we will briefly stop at Cabo da Roca for an opportunity to capture stunning photographs from this dramatic cliffside viewpoint.

Afterward, a sightseeing experience in Cascais awaits us, as we will arrive in this charming town by bus.

Finally, we will conclude our day between 8 and 9 hours later back in central Lisbon. We hope to see you again soon!

Important Notes

With the implementation of new regulations, guided tours within the Pena Palace are currently restricted. Thus, our guided experience will occur in the expansive gardens and terraces. After this, guests will receive tickets to explore the interior of the palace at their leisure.

Itinerary Changes

It is essential to be aware that the sequence of visits outlined in the itinerary may be modified for operational reasons. Additionally, the lunch break may take place in Cascais, where a guided walking tour may replace the scenic tour.

Please keep in mind that during peak travel seasons, the duration of the tour could increase due to traffic conditions.
