Our adventure begins at the renowned St. George’s Castle, where an informed guide will relate the captivating narrative of this age-old fortress that has stood sentinel over the city for almost a millennium. From its ancient ramparts, we will enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon extending down to the Tagus River.
After our castle visit, we will make a stop at the celebrated Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol viewpoints, before slowly weaving through the winding paths of the Moorish-influenced Alfama neighborhood. This area invites us to uncover the origins of Fado music, gain insights into the lives of Arab, Jewish, and Christian communities during the Middle Ages, and learn about the dramatic love affair between King Pedro I and Inês de Castro during the tumultuous 14th century.

Additionally, we'll take in the facade of the Church of Our Lady of the Conception Old, where its intricate stone designs harbor enigmatic alchemical symbols.
Next, prepare to sample Ginjinha, Portugal's renowned sour cherry liqueur, served from a beloved family-owned establishment, while we delve into its significance within local culture.
Continuing our journey, we will enter the majestic Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), revealing concealed symbols and hidden stories often overlooked by typical guidebooks.
