Situated along the Atlantic coast, the Locmariaquer Megalithic Complex stands as a crucial site from the prehistoric era in Brittany.
This extensive archaeological zone dates back to the Neolithic period, which spanned from approximately 4500 to 2500 BC—a time characterized by the settlement of communities, as humans shifted to farming and domestication of animals.
At this location, you can witness impressive megaliths, including the Er Grah Menhir, recognized as the largest stone monolith across Europe. Originally erected around 4500 BC, it measured 65 feet (20 metres) in length, although it is now in a fragmented state.
Your ticket provides access to the entire archaeological site, where you'll find various information panels designed to enhance your understanding of one of Europe's most notable prehistoric landmarks.
Opening Hours
The Locmariaquer Megalithic Site operates during the following hours:
- From October to March: 10 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Closed on Mondays.
- In April: 10 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 5:30 pm
- From May 2 to July 7: 10 am to 5:30 pm
- From July 8 to August 24: 10 am to 6:30 pm
- From August 25 to September 30: 10 am to 5:30 pm
Please note that the last entry and ticket sales conclude 30 minutes prior to the site's closing time.
Free Admission
Entry to the Locmariaquer Megalithic Complex is complimentary for the following groups:
- Young adults from the European Union aged 18 to 25.
- All children under 18 years, regardless of nationality.
Additionally, all visitors receive free access on the first Sunday of each month from January to March and November to December, as well as during the third weekend of September.
To obtain the complimentary admission, please visit the ticket office on-site and provide a valid document to confirm your eligibility for a free ticket.

Free Admission
Admission to the Locmariaquer Megalithic Complex is free for the following individuals:
- Young people from the European Union between 18 and 25 years old.

Admission is also free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, between November 1 and December 31, and the third weekend of September.
In order to acquire the free admission mentioned above, you'll have to go to the site’s ticket office and present a certifying document of your eligibility for a free ticket.
