Tower of London Tickets
Description
Explore the Tower of London and delve into its intriguing history, from serving as a royal residence to its transformation into a prison, execution site, and Royal Menagerie. Today, it is home to the prestigious Crown Jewels.
Tickets for the Tower of London
This ticket grants you access to the rich history of the Tower. Wander through the royal chambers, visit the Royal Menagerie, where exotic creatures were once housed, and discover the fateful locations of Anne Boleyn and Thomas More’s executions. You’ll also find the prison where the legendary William Wallace was held before his own execution in 1305.
The Crown Jewels, displayed in the Tower’s most renowned room, include the historic St Edward’s Crown, utilized in the coronation of English and British monarchs. Also noteworthy is the Imperial State Crown, worn by the reigning monarch during the annual State Opening of Parliament, along with the Cullinan Diamond, the largest rough diamond ever discovered in South Africa, and the Koh-i-Noor, recognized as the world’s oldest diamond.
Keep an eye out for the six iconic black ravens, known as the Tower’s most famous residents. Legend has it that if these ravens were ever to leave, the Tower would fall, along with the monarchy itself.
Yeomen Warders
Alongside their role in guarding the Tower, the Yeomen Warders, or “Beefeaters,” conduct complimentary guided tours of the Castle throughout the day. Every thirty minutes, these Warders lead 60-minute tours filled with gripping tales of prisoners, intrigue, torture, and fascinating historical insights. It’s a highlight for many visitors to the Tower.
These guided tours commence every half hour beginning at 10 am from Tuesday to Saturday, and at 10:30 am on Sundays and Mondays.
The final tour led by the Yeomen Warders departs at 2:30 pm in the winter and at 3:30 pm in the summer.
