Guided Day Trip to Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne

Trip Details

Our adventure begins at the Landenberg bus park , where we’ll depart at the scheduled time, journeying through picturesque Swiss landscapes toward Kriens. Here, the "golden round trip" will commence aboard the distinctive panoramic gondolas to Fräkmüntegg. During this thirty-minute ascent, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the lush forests of Krienseregg, alongside scenic valleys and majestic mountains.

Upon arrival in Fräkmüntegg, we’ll board the Dragon Ride, an aerial cableway that provides an exhilarating sensation of gliding over the Swiss Alps. This is truly a remarkable experience!

At the summit of Mount Pilatus, you can traverse the Dragon's Trail, unraveling the enigmatic legend behind its name, or choose to ascend to the mountain’s apex. Make sure to visit the observation terrace for stunning vistas of the surrounding lakes and mountains, and savor delectable Alpine cuisine at one of the nearby restaurants at your convenience.

Once you’ve fully appreciated the splendor of Mount Pilatus, we’ll initiate our descent to Alpnachstad on the world's steepest cogwheel train. Our adventure continues with a one-hour boat cruise on the Lake of the Four Cantons, allowing you to admire the enchanting Swiss Alpine scenery from a fresh vantage point. The tour will conclude back at the original meeting point after approximately 5.5 hours.

Itinerary Changes

Please note that the itinerary will be adjusted on the following dates:

• October 19 to November 27, 2026: the ascent and descent will occur via the rack railway, and the boat experience will not be available. A meal voucher will be provided in this case. 
• On November 28 and 29, 2026: you’ll ascend by cable car and descend by rack railway. The boat cruise will not take place, yet a meal voucher, with a value of 20CHF for adults and 10CHF for children, valid at restaurants on Mount Pilatus will be offered.
