Description

A complimentary walking tour in Lucknow offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the essential sights of the Uttar Pradesh capital. Join us to experience its rich culture and stunning architecture!

Tour Overview

We will gather near the Amir-ud-Daula Library to kick off this complimentary tour. Are you prepared to uncover the most significant landmarks of Lucknow? Let’s get started!

The adventure begins with a visit to the Amir-ud-Daula Library, an architectural gem from the Colonial era that showcases Indo-European design. As we appreciate its exterior, you will learn about its role as a center for intellectual development during British colonial rule.

Next, we will make our way to the Safed Baradari, an exquisite white marble monument originally built for ceremonies under King Mirza Wajid Ali Shah. You will find this structure to be a remarkable representation of Lucknow's regal history. Following this, we'll visit the tomb of Saadat Ali Khan I, a 19th-century mausoleum that contains the remains of the first Nawab of Oudh.

Our journey will then take us to the Victoria Memorial, an imposing black structure erected in honor of Queen Victoria, which highlights the Colonial influence present in central Lucknow. As we delve deeper into the region’s aristocratic past, we’ll explore the lavish Kothi Darshan Vilas and Kothi Gulistan-e-Iram mansions.

Later, we will visit the State Lalit Kala Academy, a hub for local art that features various exhibitions. Nearby, you’ll spot the Lal Baradari, a striking red pavilion that once served as the royal court in Awadhi.

The tour will conclude at the magnificent Chhatar Manzil, or the Umbrella Palace, where you’ll uncover the historical significance of this landmark linked to the 1857 rebellion. It will be the ideal ending for our complimentary excursion through Lucknow.

In total, we will spend about 2 hours together before we part ways at this location.
