5-Day Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan
Description
Begin your journey with a 4-night cruise from Luxor to Aswan, immersing yourself in the captivating heritage of Egypt. Witness legendary temples and glide along the majestic Nile River!
What Awaits You
Day 1: Luxor - Commencing Your Nile Journey
Upon your arrival in Luxor, we'll be waiting for you at the Luxor airport. Our pickups extend to the train station, hotels, or any preferred location. You’ll be guided to a luxurious cruise vessel, where your all-inclusive room and board experience commences.
Day 2: Luxor - Esna - Edfu
Following a delightful breakfast, we will disembark to immerse ourselves in the remarkable city of Luxor, formerly known as ancient Thebes. Here, we will visit two of Egypt’s most stunning temples, the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple, historically linked by the Avenue of the Sphinxes, a 3 km (1.8 mi) pathway.
Post-lunch, our exploration will take us to the grand necropolises surrounding Luxor:
- Our first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, where we will examine three tombs chosen by our knowledgeable guide.
- Next, we'll tour the Temple of Hatshepsut, a tribute to the only female pharaoh who ruled Egypt extensively.
- We'll also witness the Colossi of Memnon, the immense statues commemorating Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
A visit to a local artisan shop will offer insight into the craftsmanship of traditional stone, alabaster, and sculpture work.
Afterward, we’ll set sail towards Edfu, where we'll settle for dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan
After a fulfilling breakfast, you’ll experience a horse-drawn carriage tour around Edfu, visiting its renowned temple dedicated to Horus. Our expedition will continue to Kom Ombo, exploring its magnificent temple, which pays tribute to the deities Sobek and Hareoris.
As the day progresses, we will cruise further up the Nile to Aswan, where we'll spend the night.
Note: The tour of Edfu requires a horse-drawn carriage. If you prefer an alternative mode of transportation, please inform your guide the day before.
Day 4: Aswan - A Day to Remember
After breakfast, we’ll visit the stunning Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. Should you be interested, we recommend the optional excursion to the Abu Simbel temples.
Before afternoon, we'll tour a perfume shop and discover the secrets of Egyptian scents. Following that, enjoy a serene sail along the Nile on a traditional felucca boat, taking in the area's exquisite nature, comprising volcanic islands and lush flora and fauna. Another night awaits you in Aswan.
Day 5: Aswan - Departure
After your morning meal and check-out, you’ll have some free time to enjoy. We'll ensure your transfer to your chosen mode of departure. For late departures, a lunch onboard will be offered.
Please note that lunch on this final day is not included. An optional onboard meal is available, priced at around 20EUR per person.
