Activity Details
Our meeting point is set for 2 am at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, which serves as the launch site for our night ascent of Mount Pico. Are you prepared to embark on a volcanic adventure in the moonlit hours?
Once assembled, the guide will provide essential instructions and distribute the necessary climbing gear. We'll embark on our ascent at a comfortable pace for all participants.
As we navigate the path illuminated by the moon and stars, you'll witness the sunrise gradually illuminating the landscape. The breathtaking sight of daylight streaming across the ocean from Mount Pico will leave a lasting impression.
Our climb will take us to the peak, with planned stops to appreciate the stunning natural beauty from over 2300 meters high. Did you know that Mount Pico stands as Portugal's highest point?
Upon reaching the summit, you can relish the panoramic views of the Azores archipelago bathed in sunlight. Be sure to capture these moments with your camera!
We will conclude our night trek of Mount Pico back at our initial meeting point by 12 noon.

Participants should possess a high level of physical fitness for this activity. This route is not suitable for children younger than 13 or individuals older than 65. Additionally, due to the high altitudes, it is essential that you have not engaged in any scuba diving activities within 24 hours before this hike.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we will meet at Casa da Montanha (Caminho Florestal nº 9 Candelária, 9950-000 Madalena, Portugal). We recommend to be at the meeting point 10 to 15 minutes before the activity starts.
Important
- Since this is an activity that requires some physical activity, it is essential to wear footwear suitable for mountain hiking, running shoes are not valid.

To participate in this activity, you must be in very good physical condition. The route is not recommended for children under 13, nor for people over 65. In addition, due to the altitudes we'll reach, it's imperative that you have not participated in any diving activities 24 hours prior to this hike.
