Join a day trip from Madrid to Ávila and Segovia, two renowned cities in the region of Castile and León. You'll have the opportunity to admire stunning medieval artwork and one of the world’s most iconic Roman aqueducts.

Ávila & Segovia Day Trip

We'll gather at a designated meeting spot in Madrid to commence our journey northward towards Castile. Both Segovia and Ávila, recognized as World Heritage Sites, provide an exploration of history that spans from the Roman era to the height of the Middle Ages.

Upon arrival in Segovia, the first sight to behold will be the impressive Roman aqueduct, stretching a remarkable 10 miles (16 km) and standing strong for over two millennia. You’ll also have the chance to wander through the historical Jewish quarter and view the Segovia Cathedral, deemed the "Dama de las Catedrales Españolas"(Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals).

Next, we’ll explore the Alcázar of Segovia, a fortress that served as the residence for various royalty in Castile. Interestingly, it is believed that the inspiration for Snow White's castle came from this very stronghold, which captivated even Walt Disney.

As we move on to Ávila, the birthplace of Saint Teresa of Ávila, you will encounter the most ancient and intact city walls in Spain.

A stroll through the old town of Ávila will unveil its Gothic palaces and Romanesque churches, culminating in the striking fortified cathedral. Depending on your selected option, you might opt to walk along the cathedral’s walls or pay a visit to churches such as the Basílica de San Vicente or the Convento de Santa Teresa.

After an enriching 9-hour exploration filled with cultural insights and architectural wonders, we will embark on our return to Madrid.
