Embark on a one-day excursion from Madrid to the historical cities of Ávila and Segovia, two of the renowned gems of Castile and León. Prepare to be captivated by remarkable medieval art and one of the most celebrated Roman aqueducts across the globe.

Ávila & Segovia Day Excursion

Our adventure begins at the selected meeting point in Madrid, from where we will depart northbound towards Castile. Both Segovia and Ávila, recognized as World Heritage Sites, allow visitors to traverse the fascinating timeline from Roman antiquity through the remarkable Middle Ages.

Upon our arrival in Segovia, you'll be greeted by the impressive Roman aqueduct, a striking structure that spans an impressive 10 miles (16 km) and has endured for over 2000 years. Wander through the charming streets of the historic Jewish quarter and visit the Segovia Cathedral, revered as the "Dama de las Catedrales Españolas" (Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals).

Next, marvel at the Alcázar of Segovia, a fortress once home to various monarchs of Castile. Interestingly, it is widely believed that Walt Disney drew inspiration from this castle for his portrayal of Snow White's abode.

In Ávila, which is the birthplace of Saint Teresa of Ávila, you will find the oldest and most intact city walls in Spain.

We will explore the historic town of Ávila, uncovering its elegant Gothic palaces, Romanesque churches, and the remarkable fortified cathedral. Depending on your chosen package, you can either stroll along the cathedral's walls or visit notable sites such as the Basílica de San Vicente  or the Convento de Santa Teresa.

After a full day of around 9 hours filled with cultural enrichment and architectural wonder, we will begin our return journey to Madrid.

• Tour with Ávila Walls admission: comprises transport and a ticket to ascend the famous Ávila Walls. Please be aware that this option lacks guided tours.
• Tour with both Ávila Walls and Alcázar of Segovia admission: includes a guided experience in both cities, with entry to the Ávila Walls and the Alcázar of Segovia.
• Tour with both Ávila Walls and Alcázar of Segovia admission + lunch: presents the complete guided itinerary alongside the aforementioned admission tickets, plus a traditional Segovian meal consisting of judiones de La Granja, roast suckling pig, Segovian ponche cake with vanilla shortbread, along with bread, water, and wine.
• Tour with all admission tickets: the most comprehensive choice, featuring a guide in both cities and expedited entry to Segovia Cathedral, the Alcázar of Segovia, the Basilica of San Vicente, and the Convent of Santa Teresa.
