Toledo & Consuegra Windmills Day Trip

Embark on a captivating day trip to Toledo and the iconic windmills of Consuegra, where you will encounter a quintessential image of Castilla-La Mancha and explore the historic windmills that served as inspiration for Cervantes’ Don Quixote.

Day Trip Overview

Join us at the designated time at the Naval Museum in Madrid, where we will begin our excursion, leaving behind the capital as we set our sights on the famed windmills of Consuegra.

After a journey of approximately 1.5 hours, we will arrive in Consuegra, a picturesque town located in Toledo that is celebrated for its windmill heritage.

Upon our arrival, you’ll undoubtedly be reminded of the enchanting tales of Don Quixote as depicted in Miguel de Cervantes' renowned novel. To enrich this experience, we will visit the site housing eight remarkable windmills of Consuegra, known as one of Spain’s most significant and well-preserved windmill complexes.

Additionally, we will have the opportunity to explore one of the windmills from the inside, where you can gain insights into their operations and historical significance.

At approximately 1:30 PM, we will depart Consuegra and travel onward to Toledo. There, we will cross the impressive Alcántara Bridge to arrive at the Plaza de Zocodover.

Once in the square, you will have two hours of free time to wander through the charming streets of Toledo at your leisure. We will reconvene to visit the Mirador del Valle, where you can take in spectacular views of the city.

Our enriching day trip will conclude with our return to Madrid, marking the end of a fulfilling 10-hour journey.
