Museo Reina Sofía Tickets
Description
When visiting Madrid, don't miss the chance to explore remarkable creations by some of Spain's most renowned artists, including Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí, by securing your entry to the illustrious Museo Reina Sofía.
Reasons to Explore the Museo Reina Sofía
The Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía stands out as one of the most significant art venues in Madrid. It forms part of the Golden Triangle of Art alongside the Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
Within its walls, guests will encounter masterpieces from legendary artists like Greco, Goya, and Velázquez. The collection prominently features Picasso's monumental work Guernica, a powerful response to the bombing of the Basque town during the Spanish Civil War.
Established as an extension of the Prado's exhibition, the Museo Reina Sofía boasts artwork created from 1881 onwards, the birth year of Pablo Picasso, marking the dawn of a new artistic period distinguished from the pre-1881 works displayed at the Prado.
Since its inauguration in 1992, this institution has developed one of the largest contemporary art collections globally, becoming a leading modern art museum in Spain.
