Madrid Royal Palace Tickets
Description
Booking a ticket for the Royal Palace of Madrid allows you to explore one of the most impressive royal palaces globally without enduring long queues. This landmark is essential for any visitor to the Spanish capital!
The Royal Palace of Madrid
Recognized as the largest royal palace in Western Europe, it boasts a footprint that is twice that of both Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Versailles.
Commissioned by Philip V, the inaugural king of the Bourbon line, the Palacio de Oriente was built over the remnants of the old Alcázar. Charles III was the first monarch to take residence here, and although it now serves primarily as a venue for ceremonial functions, it remains the official dwelling of the Spanish Royal Family.
With your ticket, you can uncover the magnificent treasures that lie within its splendid halls. Experience the grandeur of the Plaza de Armas, ascend the Main Staircase, and admire the Throne Room, alongside other notable areas such as the Gasparini Room, the Royal Chapel, and even the Pharmacy… You will have the chance to view artworks by Francisco de Goya, court painter during the Bourbon reign. Don’t miss out on this experience!
Ticket Options
When making your reservation, you can select from several options:
- Royal Palace Ticket: This ticket grants you access to the main areas of the palace as described earlier. Note that you must visit at the designated time, as entry at other times is not allowed.
- Royal Palace + Gallery of the Royal Collections: Along with the palace tour, this option includes a viewing of an exhibition featuring 650 items, ranging from remnants of the Arab wall to antique furniture. The entry time indicated on your ticket specifically applies to the Royal Palace visit. The ticket for the Royal Collections Gallery is valid for up to seven days post-visit but is not applicable during free entry hours, which take place from 6 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Thursday.
- Royal Palace + Kitchen: This ticket offers access to the palace and a tour of the kitchen, celebrated for its size and historical significance. Few palaces can boast a preservation of such a space! The kitchen reflects renovations carried out from 1760 to 1931. Please be aware that the Royal Palace portion is unguided, while the kitchen visit is guided. The chosen time slot corresponds to the kitchen visit, with palace exploration permissible before or after this guided portion.
