The museum includes nearly one thousand paintings by renowned European artists. Highlights include works by Piero della Francesca, Tiziano, Van Eyck, Rubens, and Rembrandt, alongside Impressionist pieces by Monet, Degas, and Renoir. There are also works by Van Gogh, Munch, and Cezanne, as well as pieces from avant-garde artists like Picasso, Paul Klee, Kandinsky, and Chagall. Located in Villahermosa Palace, the museum also showcases twenty-first-century American paintings.
Opening Times
- Tuesday to Sunday: 10 am - 7 pm
- December 24 and 31: open until 3 pm
- Closed: December 25, January 1, and May 1
- Temporary exhibitions: Tuesday to Friday and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm; Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm
Visitors must exit all rooms 5 minutes before closing time.
Special Times
On October 12, the museum will open from 1 pm to 7 pm.
Group Size
Groups of over 6 people must purchase tickets directly at the ticket office to receive a special group discount.
Temporary Exhibitions
This ticket includes access to temporary exhibitions. Visitors must choose a time for entry, and capacity limits allow entry only at the selected time. The rest of the museum can be accessed during regular opening hours.

Important information
The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum is located on the Paseo del Prado, 8. The closest metro station is Banco de España (line 2). With this voucher, you'll be able to enter directly through the turnstiles or accesses. It will not be necessary to go through the museum ticket office.
Please remember that you can access the permanent exhibition at any time, but you can only enter the temporary exhibition at the time you have indicated during the reservation process.

Don’t forget that you’ll need to bring your ID to show proof of eligibility at the ticket counter before entering the museum.
Schedule
- Tuesday to Sunday: 10 am to 6:30 pm.
- The Museum closes at 3 pm on the 24 and 31 December.
- The Museum is closed on 25 December, 1 January and 1 May.
- Temporary exhibitions can be visited on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 9 pm.
You must leave the museum 5 minutes before the closing time.
