Hiking Adventure in Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Manizales at the scheduled time as we set off towards the Otún Quimbaya Fauna and Flora Sanctuary in the Risaralda region.

Following a scenic two-hour drive, we will reach this natural reserve nestled in the Cordillera Central mountain range of Colombia. This area is a protected haven that focuses on conserving an array of species including birds, insects, and small mammals, some of which are unfortunately at risk of extinction.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a 2 km hike through the lush Andean rainforest. The trail is accessible, allowing you to savor the stunning greenery and unique landscapes of this rich ecosystem.

As we walk, we will pause to recharge with a delicious regional lunch, featuring a satisfying meal paired with a refreshing drink.

After our meal, we will continue our leisurely nature exploration.

This will provide us with the chance to view exotic avian species such as the moustached tororoi, the brilliantly colored tanager, and the Torrentes paca. Additionally, you may spot intriguing mammals like monkeys, silver foxes, and the remarkable wolf guagua, recognized as the second largest rodent in Colombia.

To conclude our expedition, we will return to Manizales, dropping you off at your hotel after an enriching total of 7 hours.
