4-Day Journey from Marrakech to Fez

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Valleys of Roses and Dades

Upon your arrival at the airport in Marrakech or your chosen hotel or riad, we will commence this remarkable 4-day expedition through Morocco's interior. Our first route takes us through the magnificent Atlas Mountains, where we will cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the highest road pass in Morocco, standing at 2260 meters (7414 feet).

This captivating journey will lead us to Ouarzazate, where we will trek to the outskirts to explore the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadu, a famous fortification that has featured in films such as Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven.

Continuing from Ait Ben Hadu, we will proceed to Skoura, home to the stunning kasbah of Amredhyle. Our day will conclude with a scenic drive through the Roses and Dades valleys, followed by dinner and relaxation at our hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel in the Dades Valley, we will set off toward the captivating Todra Gorges. Marvel at the striking natural beauty of these steep-sided gorges, inhabited by locals with rich traditions and history.

The journey continues into the vibrant palm grove of Jorf and the quaint village of Erfoud, where we will have the opportunity to explore a traditional marble workshop. As the sun begins to set, casting an orange hue across the Moroccan sky, we will arrive at the enchanting desert of Merzouga. We will check into our haima camp for the next two nights and enjoy a thrilling camel ride through the dunes before a delightful dinner beneath the starry desert sky.

Day 3: Discovering Merzouga Desert

Today offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Embrace the tranquility of the desert as we wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the Merzouga desert, with its scarlet dunes glowing softly in the early light. We will enjoy breakfast while taking in this awe-inspiring sight. Afterwards, we’ll venture into the desert for an exhilarating off-road excursion among the Erg Chebbi dunes, the tallest in Morocco.

We will also make a stop at the village of Khamlia, allowing for some independent exploration, before returning to the riad hotels for dinner and rest in preparation for our final day.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Ifran - Fez

This morning begins with breakfast against the backdrop of the Merzouga dunes. Once we are set to depart, we will travel north to Rissani, the former capital of the Alawite sultans. After gaining insight into its rich history, we will traverse the scenic Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas regions as we head towards Ifran, often referred to as "the Switzerland of Morocco".

From Ifran, we will continue our journey to Fez. Three hours before your flight departs, we will escort you to the airport, or, if preferred, to your hotel or riad in the city.
