If you are visiting Marrakech and wish to discover the desert at your own pace, our private tours are available for booking. These excursions span 2 to 4 days and include pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, transportation in a luxurious private vehicle with an English-speaking driver, along with standard or premium accommodation.

2-Day Zagora Desert Excursion

Immerse yourself in authentic Moroccan culture on a 2-day adventure to the Zagora Sahara Desert, where you will engage with traditional Amazigh communities. This journey mirrors our 2-Day Zagora Desert Trip.

Your path will lead through the Atlas mountain range, passing the scenic Drâa Valley and its lush palm grove before reaching the enchanting Zagora Desert. Here, you'll have the opportunity to ride a camel and spend the night in a traditional Amazigh haima.

The next day greets you with an incredible sunrise in the desert as you return to Marrakech via the Drâa Valley and Agdez, stopping at Ouarzazate to explore the Kasbah Taourirt.

3-Day Merzouga Desert Adventure

Experience the diverse landscapes of Morocco on an exciting 3-day journey to Merzouga from Marrakech, closely aligned with our 3-Day Sahara Desert Trip.

Your adventure begins with a visit to the Kasbah de Ait-Ben-Haddou, an impressive fortified village. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you'll discover the Kasbah of Taourirt before venturing across the Valley of the Roses and spending the night amidst the breathtaking Dadès Gorges.

Day two is dedicated to exploring the Dadès Valley and the Todra Gorge, followed by a journey through the Jorf Palm Grove and Erfoud, culminating in the Merzouga Desert for an overnight stay.

On the final day, witness a wonderful desert sunrise before departing through the breathtaking landscapes of the Rissani palm grove and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. The journey also takes you through Tinghir, Boumalne Dades, and the village of Imassine, where lunch will be served before heading back to Marrakech.

During your booking, you may choose to conclude this tour in Fez  if desired.

4-Day Merzouga Desert Adventure

Embark on a journey through one of Morocco’s most stunning deserts, featuring some of the country’s most spectacular landscapes on this 4-day excursion. The itinerary closely follows our 4-Day Merzouga Desert Trip.

On the first day, we will journey to the Atlas Mountains, arriving at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, renowned as the most remarkable fortified city in Morocco, a backdrop for films like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven. Our adventure continues to Skoura, Kelaat M'gouna, and the Dadès Gorges, where we'll spend the night.

Day two features a tour of the Dadès Valley, the Todra Gorge , and the famous Jorf Palm Grove. We will then pass through the charming village of Erfoud to reach Merzouga, where a camel ride through the mesmerizing desert awaits.

On day three, we will once again mount our camels to witness a stunning sunrise in the desert. The return to Ouarzazate will take us through the Tafilalet Palm Grove and Rissani, reaching Alnif before taking the Anti Atlas route to Tazarine, N'kob, and ultimately the Drâa Valley. We will conclude the day at our hotel in Ouarzazate.

The final day includes a visit to the Atlas Film Studios and the renowned Kasbah Taourirt, before concluding the tour in Marrakech.

Accommodations During the Tour

On the 2-day excursion to Zagora, accommodations will be at a desert camp providing ample facilities, including shared toilets and showers. Each nomad tent can accommodate up to five people, ensuring privacy for your group.

For the 3 and 4-day excursions to Merzouga, you may opt for standard or superior accommodations, which include a 3-4 star hotel or a desert camp featuring shared bathrooms:

• Standard Option: Babylon Hotel, Dar Ahlam, Augberge Tifawen or similar (Dades), Haima camp (Merzouga), and Hotel Les Jardins, Azoul Hotel or similar in Ouarzazate.
• Superior Option: Ksar Sulta, Riad Rihana, Hotel Xaluca Dades or similar (Dades), Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or similar (Merzouga) and Dar Chamaa, Riad Tama, Le Petit Riad, Riad Ouarzazate or similar (Ouarzazate).

Prices are per person sharing a double room at both hotels and desert camps. Alternatively, triple and family accommodations can be arranged. Additionally, a surcharge of 30EUR per tent applies for air-conditioning in the luxury camps.
