2-Day Zagora Desert Trip

Short on time but eager to experience Morocco's desert? This expedition to the Zagora Desert is ideal for those wishing to spend a night in a haima and embark on a camel ride without enduring long hours of travel. Over the course of 2 days, you will traverse the High Atlas and approach the Sahara, immersing yourself in an environment characterized by a rocky desert.

Overview of the 2-Day Journey

Day 1: Ait Ben Haddou - Draâ Valley - Zagora

We begin our adventure by departing from Marrakech towards Zagora. The route takes us through the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass, a stunning passage located at an elevation of 2260 meters, where you can catch glimpses of various Amazigh villages.

Following a visit to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, we will continue our journey towards Zagora, crossing the Anti Atlas and admiring the Amazigh village of Agdez, as well as the picturesque Draâ Valley, famous for its palm groves, the last signs of vegetation before entering the desert.

Upon arriving in Zagora, there will be time to enjoy a camel ride and witness the breathtaking desert sunset.

After savoring a traditional dinner, we will stay overnight in an authentic Amazigh tent.

Day 2: Zagora - Draâ Valley - Ouarzazate

Awakening early on the second day to witness a remarkable sight: dawn in the desert. After sunrise, enjoy a hearty breakfast and a refreshing shower before embarking on a 40-minute camel trek through the sands.

Our path will once again lead us through the Draâ Valley and Agdez, arriving at Ouarzazate, where we will explore the Taourit Kasbah.

In the afternoon, we will make our way back to Marrakech, with the option to dine in Ouarzazate or along the route.

The return to Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon.

Accommodation Choices

During the booking process, you can select from two types of accommodation:

• The standard camp, which accommodates up to 5 guests, features shared bathroom and shower facilities.
• The superior camp, hosting a maximum of 4 individuals, offers private bathrooms.

In any scenario, your accommodation will be private, ensuring no sharing with other guests. We provide options for double, triple, and family tents. If a single traveler reserves, an additional fee will apply if preferring a single accommodation.

The standard and superior camps operate as distinct entities.

For guests outside the Medina, complimentary pickup will be provided at your hotel or riad. An additional charge may apply for hotels beyond Marrakech, ranging from 10EUR to 40EUR, based on distance.
