Marseille Calanques Hiking Tour
Description
The National Park of Calanques stands as one of Marseille's most exquisite natural treasures. Experience its stunning sceneries on this hiking expedition through the picturesque coves scattered throughout the region.
Tour Insights
We will convene at the designated spot along Avenue de Luminy, where we'll board a local bus that will take us to the coves of Marseille. Following a short introduction, we’ll commence an engaging hiking adventure towards Calanques National Park. This natural area boasts some of the most breathtaking locales along the Provence coastline, and you'll surely be captivated the instant we arrive.
Our first stop will be at Belvédère de Sugiton, where we can savor the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. The cliffs, adorned in shades of ocher and gray, harmoniously blend with the azure waters, creating an extraordinarily scenic environment.
Next, we will continue our hike towards another stunning area, the calanque of Saint-Jean de Dieu, affectionately known as De L’Oeil De Verre (translated as 'glass eye') due to the unique formations of its cliffs.
Afterwards, we will take a well-deserved rest on the Mediterranean shores, allowing time to thoroughly appreciate the natural beauty around us. During this break, you can enjoy a delightful picnic, featuring an assortment of bread, cheese, charcuterie, dips, and fresh fruit.
Finally, we will make our way back to the starting point, concluding our excursion approximately five hours after we set off.
