Gran Canaria Food Tour

Explore the unique culinary heritage of Gran Canaria on this food tour that features a visit to the Arehucas rum distillery and the Banana Museum in Arucas. You'll also have the chance to experience a visit to a farm in Agaete where you can taste local coffee and wine, followed by a workshop on Canarian mojo sauce.

Activity Overview

Our adventure begins at the designated meeting point in southern Gran Canaria that you selected during your booking process. Are you ready to dive into the island's flavorful offerings?

The tour will kick off with a drive towards Arucas. This charming town in the northern part of the island will be our first stop at the Arehucas distillery, where you will discover the intriguing process of rum production from sugar cane. At the conclusion of your distillery exploration, those interested will have the opportunity to sample various types of rum independently.

Following our time at the distillery, we will proceed to the Banana Museum. As we navigate through the exhibits, you'll gain insight into the history of the banana, an essential element of Canarian cuisine. We will also guide you on how to identify the island's native banana variety, characterized by its smaller size and distinctive yellow skin with brown spots.

In the museum shop, you'll find an assortment of wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and banana-based creams available for purchase. Afterward, we'll visit a local restaurant where you can savor traditional Gran Canarian dishes at your own pace, making for a truly delightful dining experience!

Once lunch is completed, our gastronomic journey through the island continues:

• On Tuesdays, we will visit the Los Olivos estate for a guided tour (in Spanish) and an olive oil and product tasting.
• If you're joining us on a Thursday, then we’ll head to the Los Berrazales winery, where you'll enjoy a guided tour (in English), a coffee tasting, and a chance to participate in a mojo sauce workshop.

Concluding our day, we will head back to your respective meeting point in southern Gran Canaria, with the tour lasting approximately between 6 to 8 hours.

Pickup Information

The tour includes pickup from several tourist areas:

• 7:45 to 8:20 am: from Puerto de Mogán to Arguineguín. Expected return at around 5:30 pm.
• 8:35 to 8:45 am: from Sonnenland and Meloneras to Campo de Golf. Expected return at around 5:00 pm.
• 8:50 to 9:20 am: from Playa del Inglés to Bahía Feliz. Expected return at around 5:00 pm.

Note: Please be aware that on Mondays, there is no pickup service available in Arguineguín, Patalavaca, Puerto Rico, Taurito, and Mogán. In such cases, you would need to arrive at the Hotel Parque Tropical (located in Playa del Inglés) or another designated point within Playa del Inglés or Meloneras.
