On our way, we’ll pause to savor a delightful traditional snack from the Antioquia area, either at the Chocho farm or another nearby venue. Following this, our route will lead us to the village of Guatapé, where we’ll indulge in a lunch featuring classic Colombian cuisine.
Revitalized, we will then embark on a 20-minute boat journey on the Guatapé Reservoir, complete with lively music on board. As we sail, we will observe the cross honoring the former town of El Peñol, now hidden beneath the water, and glide by the El Peñol House Museum, which commemorates its former residents. Keep an eye out for lavish residences belonging to prominent Colombians, and take in breathtaking views of the iconic Piedra del Peñol from the boat. It's an unforgettable visual experience!
Our next stop will be the entrance to La Manuela estate, renowned as one of Pablo Escobar's notable former residences along the Guatapé Reservoir. Here, we'll begin our exploration by discovering how this estate was constructed in the late 1980s as a present for Escobar’s daughter.
