Your journey begins as we meet at the selected point in Medellín. We'll depart the city and head towards the eastern part of Colombia, with our first destination being Marinilla, where a traditional breakfast awaits us.

The next highlight of our excursion will be the renowned El Peñol de Guatapé. This striking monolith, reaching a height of 721 ft (220 m), provides a stunning vantage point of the area. For those willing to ascend its steps, an extraordinary view of Guatapé will reward your effort. You’ll have some time to absorb the unique scenery.

Continuing our adventure, we will visit the charming town of Guatapé. Here, a leisurely stroll along the Malecón will lead us to discover the tales captured in the colorful reliefs of the Plaza de los Zócalos. Its vivid facades and the authentic atmosphere of its streets promise to enchant you.

To delve into rural life, we'll make a stop at the Alto del Chocho o San José farm. From this scenic viewpoint, prepare to be captivated by 360-degree panoramic vistas of the reservoir and the magnificent Antioquian mountains. You’ll also have the chance to interact with friendly llamas during your visit! Following the farm experience, enjoy a delicious typical lunch in the local area.

As our day draws to a close, we will start making our way back, wrapping up the excursion approximately 10 to 11 hours after we set off from the original meeting point.

• Day trip without a boat ride: This includes the full itinerary as outlined above and pickup at a meeting point located in the El Poblado area.
• Day trip with a boat ride: In addition to the standard itinerary, this option incorporates a boat trip across the Guatapé dam, allowing you to view the ruins of Hacienda La Manuela and learn about its history. Pickup will also be facilitated from a meeting point in El Poblado.
• Day trip with boat ride and hotel pickup: This complete package encompasses all aspects of the boat ride day trip, along with convenient round-trip transport from your hotel, provided it is included in the list of eligible hotels for pickup.
