Advanced River Rafting Down Samaná River

Description

At the scheduled time, our team will collect you from your hotel in Medellin, initiating an exciting trip through the lush landscapes of the Antioquia region.

Prepare for a picturesque three-hour ride to our first transfer point in Cocorná. From here, we will switch to a sturdy off-road vehicle, which will take us into a forest enclave in just 30 minutes. Once we arrive, we will embark on a hike lasting between 40 minutes to an hour, following the stunning outlines of an impressive canyon.

Upon our arrival at the advanced rafting launch area, we will catch sight of the Samaná River, often called the "free river of Antioquia", formed by the confluence of the Verde and Calderas rivers.

Once we reach the river's edge, the rafts and paddles will be prepared for our adventure. We’ll equip ourselves with safety gear, including life jackets and helmets. After a brief technical overview, we will set off on an exhilarating rafting experience, expected to last around 3 to 4 hours.

We will tackle a demanding section of the river, navigating 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of class III and IV rapids. Throughout this ride, take a moment to appreciate the breathtaking vistas of the lush Colombian jungle that surrounds us.

Before concluding our adventure, we will have a delightful picnic lunch amid the beautiful natural scenery. After replenishing our energy, we will make our way back to the initial meeting spot in our off-road vehicle.

Our transport will be ready to take you back to your hotel in Medellin, wrapping up this action-filled day approximately 9 hours after we began.

Tour from Cocorná

If you prefer, you can go directly to the meeting point in Cocorná, located at the El Llanerito La Piñuela Restaurant along the Autopista Medellín - Bogotá. Should you opt for this option, we will reach out to confirm the exact meeting time.

At this location, we will gather any remaining members of the group arriving from Medellín. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring arepas, eggs, cheese, and rice. For drinks, you will have options such as hot chocolate, coffee, or soda.

If you are new to rafting or haven't had the chance to try it yet, consider joining our beginner's river rafting activity on the Samaná River. Please note that the meeting point is situated in San Luis, not in Cocorná.
