Our adventure begins at the San Antonio tram station at 9:30 am, where we gather to uncover the rich flavors of Colombian cuisine during this complimentary food tour in Medellin.
Once assembled, we will embark on a walking exploration through the historic heart of the city, visiting notable sites such as Placita de Flórez, Plazuela de San Ignacio, and Mercado de la Playa. There is a wealth of culinary delights awaiting us!
During our journey, we will pause at various locations to sample the signature dishes of Medellin and delve into the cultural and historical significance of these recipes.
We will enjoy arepas, which are cornmeal cakes with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. Additionally, you will have the chance to savor tasty empanadas and pandebono pastries. A highlight will be trying the popular buñuelos, a sweet, fried treat resembling a doughnut. Don’t miss the chance to taste an array of tropical fruits, including guarapo, and indulge in a premium Colombian coffee.
The tour also includes visits to some traditional markets, like the one in Placita de Flórez and Mercado de Playa, allowing us to learn more about local culinary traditions and ancestral medicinal practices.
Feeling hungry? At lunchtime, we will make our way to a favorite spot known for serving the most exquisite bandeja paisa, a quintessential Colombian dish, right here in Medellin. We will also have a moment to relish a robust Colombian coffee.
