Tour Overview
On the scheduled day, we will convene at the central meeting point located at the intersection of Market and Flinders Streets beside the Immigration Museum. From this starting position, our journey will take us into Melbourne's dynamic city center, delving into its rich culture, picturesque gardens, distinctive architecture, and celebrated laneways that contribute to the city’s character.
The exploration will commence along Collins Street, often referred to as the "Paris End," where upscale shops and historic landmarks such as St. Michael’s Church and Scots’ Church showcase the architectural heritage of Melbourne.
Next, we will visit Hosier Lane, recognized for its vibrant street art, which embodies Melbourne's artistic spirit. You'll also witness key landmarks including Flinders Street Station, St Paul’s Cathedral, and Federation Square, each illustrating the city's unique integration of history and modernity.
As we proceed through the Arts Precinct, our route will lead us to the Shrine of Remembrance, an honored tribute to Australian servicemen, offering panoramic views of the skyline. Passing through the Sports Precinct, you will spot Melbourne Park and the renowned Rod Laver Arena, with a pause at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) Forecourt, a site of numerous historic celebrations.
The journey continues with visits to notable sites such as the Old Treasury Building, Parliament House, and the awe-inspiring St Patrick’s Cathedral with its Gothic architecture. At Fitzroy Gardens, you will explore Cook’s Cottage and the Conservatory, set amid charming landscapes. You’ll also see the Little Lon Distilling Co., reminiscent of one of Melbourne's storied neighborhoods.
The experience concludes in the city’s historical quarter with a visit to the Old Melbourne Gaol, infamous for its 133 executions, including that of Ned Kelly. We will drive past Lygon Street, the Royal Exhibition Building, and Queen Victoria Market, fully absorbing the vibrant spirit of Melbourne.
