Aconcagua Provincial Park Trip
Description
Explore the magnificent Andean scenery of the Aconcagua Provincial Park on this excursion from Mendoza and delve into the wild beauty that separates Argentina from Chile!
Details of the Day Trip
Your adventure begins with a pickup at your accommodation in Mendoza, followed by a journey east along the National Route 7 towards the captivating border region with Chile.
On our comfortable three-hour drive, enjoy traditional pancakes paired with a delightful infusion, selecting from mate, coffee, or tea. During the trip, we will pass through the quaint Andean village of Cacheuta, and take in views of the Potrerillos Reservoir and the Cordón del Plata mountain range.
The route continues as we drive through the towns of Uspallata and Horcones, ultimately arriving at the Puente del Inca, where you’ll hear the intriguing legends surrounding this impressive site. Afterward, we will make our way to the Aconcagua Provincial Park Visitors' Center to begin our exploration.
We will embark on an easy 2.5-hour trek, ascending to an elevation of 10,000 ft above sea level. As we journey, you will discover stunning sights such as the Horcones Lagoon and the Quebrada del Durazno Bridge. This location serves as our stop for a picnic lunch, featuring local delights including Carne Criolla empanadas, fruits, alfajores, assorted sweets, and Mendoza wine.
After our meal, we will trace our steps back to the visitor's center, board the bus once again, and return to your hotel in Mendoza, concluding the day approximately 10 hours after departure.
