El Salto Waterfall Hike
Description
Explore the stunning Andean scenery of Mendoza with an unforgettable hike to El Salto waterfall. This activity is a must for anyone visiting Argentina.
Hiking to El Salto Waterfall
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your Mendoza hotel between 7:10 am and 7:30 am, followed by our journey to El Salto. As we make our way, enjoy the picturesque Andean towns of Cacheuta and Potrerillos, both nestled near a vast reservoir and the majestic Cordón de Plata mountains.
Along this scenic route, we will provide a delightful onboard snack featuring local pancakes from Mendoza, paired with a selection of beverages such as mate, coffee, or tea.
Upon arrival in El Salto, we will embark on a six-hour hike towards one of the region's most spectacular waterfalls. This moderately challenging trail will take us through diverse high mountain Andean landscapes, reaching an impressive height of 9000 ft above sea level.
The trek meanders through rocky terrains and culminates at a viewpoint overlooking the El Salto waterfall. In the winter months, you can witness the glacial formations that develop at the base of the waterfall.
We will take a moment to absorb the breathtaking surroundings and watch majestic condors soaring overhead. This pause will also offer an opportunity to recharge with a tasty picnic lunch, which includes an assortment of sandwiches or empanadas, fresh fruits, nuts, alfajores, a cereal bar, treats, and a beverage.
After this invigorating break, our group will retrace our steps back to the starting point. We aim to have you back at your hotel in Mendoza by 6 pm.
