Experience a full day in the wine-growing region surrounding the majestic Etna, an awe-inspiring volcanic landscape in Sicily. You will take in views of Europe’s highest volcano, visit the charming town of Taormina, and immerse yourself in wine tasting at a local vineyard, a treat for your palate!

Excursion to Taormina with Winery Visit

Your adventure will commence from the Messina port, as we set off towards Taormina, a historic gem situated approximately an hour’s drive along the eastern coast of Sicily.

With an English-speaking guide by your side, a guided exploration of Taormina awaits, where you will learn about its rich history while enjoying the view of its ancient infrastructure and key landmarks. A leisurely walk along the main thoroughfare, Corso Umberto, and through the vibrant Piazza IX Aprile will highlight your visit.

Following our immersion in Taormina's heritage, we'll proceed to the magnificent Etna, the stunning volcanic domain on the eastern side of Sicily. As we approach the slopes of the largest active volcano in Europe, towering at 3,300 meters, we’ll uncover how the unique climate and fertile soil contribute to the cultivation of its acclaimed wines. A visit to a local winery will offer insights into this process.

You will have the chance to tour the various areas of the winery and gain a firsthand understanding of local wine production, culminating in a tasting experience featuring red, white, and rosé wines. This will be complemented by delicious local fare, including salami, olives, regional cheeses, and traditional Sicilian pasta.

Concluding an unforgettable day of exploration, we will return to Messina.

Cruise Passengers

This excursion caters to cruise passengers. When booking, please provide the name of your cruise ship. We will meet you in the disembarkation area thirty minutes post the scheduled docking of your vessel.

Minimum Number of Participants

During the period from November 17th to March 31st, the tour will proceed only if a minimum of 8 participants is reached. In the absence of this number, alternative arrangements will be proposed.
