Embark on a captivating Christmas journey to Chignahuapan and Zacatlan de las Manzanas, where you will explore the festive traditions of these charming Mexican Magical Towns. A key highlight of your visit will be a workshop dedicated to Christmas ball decorations.

Christmas Journey to Chignahuapan & Zacatlan de las Manzanas

At the scheduled time, we will convene at the Benidorm hotel before boarding a minibus that will transport us to immerse ourselves in the Christmas heritage of the villages surrounding Mexico City.

After approximately 2.5 hours of travel, we will reach our first stop – Chignahuapan! Upon arrival, we will commence a stroll through this enchanting Magical Town, renowned for its year-round Christmas spirit, and appreciate its remarkable charm.

In Chignahuapan, you'll discover that there are over 200 factories and workshops dedicated to crafting Christmas balls. Here, we will have the opportunity to witness the artistry behind the creation of these ornaments that adorn Mexican Christmas trees each year.

As we explore, you'll encounter an array of Christmas ball decorations showcasing various sizes, colors, textures, and materials, embellishing both the workshop and the town's facades. Additionally, there will be a two-hour interval for you to shop and enjoy lunch at your own pace.

Afterwards, we will regroup and continue our journey to Zacatlan de las Manzanas, celebrated for its plentiful apple orchards, which inspired the town's name. Here, we’ll take a leisurely walk through the historical center, delving into the rich history and festive customs of the area.

While touring Zacatlan de las Manzanas, you will visit its impressive 16th-century Franciscan temple as well as the captivating floral clock. This landmark will provide insights into one of the most cherished traditions within the local community. You will also have another two hours of free time to further explore the town at your leisure.

Our excursion will conclude approximately 16 hours later, upon returning to the original meeting point in Mexico City.
