Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán

This excursion departing from Mexico City takes us to the state of Morelos, where we will explore two of its prominent towns! Our journey includes a visit to the renowned Cuernavaca Cathedral and the Magical Town of Tepoztlán.

Journey to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán

At 8 am, our team will collect you from your hotel, Sheraton María Isabel, after which we will board a minibus to travel towards Morelos, specifically the capital city, Cuernavaca.

After approximately an hour and a half drive, we will arrive in this historic town, where a guided exploration of the Cuernavaca Cathedral awaits – recognized as one of the most ancient cathedrals in the nation! You will have the chance to admire its impressive 16th-century colonial architecture and the exquisite frescoes that showcase the unique style of the Franciscan order.

Upon concluding our visit to the Cuernavaca Cathedral, we will return to the minibus and venture towards the Magical Town of Tepoztlán. This charming town, located amidst mountains, is sure to enchant you! We will wander through its charming streets and discover the legends that it holds while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Did you know that Tepoztlán is believed to be the birthplace of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god? As we explore the Tepozteco Archaeological Site, you will learn about this and other intriguing tales! To enhance your visit to Tepoztlán, we will also stop by the local market and the historic Dominican Convent of the Nativity.

After the guided portion of the tour, we will allow you 2 hours of free time to enjoy some authentic Mexican cuisine at a nearby restaurant and continue to uncover the charm of Tepoztlán.

Finally, we will regroup and commence our journey back, targeting an arrival around 6 pm.
