Complimentary Walking Tour of Coyoacán
Our adventure commences in the vibrant heart of the Coyoacán district. This guided tour invites you to explore the most notable sites within this beloved part of Mexico City.
As we stroll along the charming cobblestone paths, we'll take in the pre-Hispanic artifacts and colonial architecture, while unraveling its significance as a center for cultural and intellectual development. The legacy of Frida Kahlo is palpable here, along with many notable personalities who have graced Coyoacán, including Buñuel, Trotsky, and Jesusa Rodríguez.
The journey includes a visit to the Church of St. John the Baptist, which is among the earliest places of worship established after the conquest led by Hernán Cortés. This site provides insight into the evolving local culture following Spanish colonization.
Following this, we will explore the historic Town Hall before wandering into the serene Centennial Garden. The tour will also feature the Jesús Reyes Heroles House of Culture, known for its significant archaeological finds.
In addition, we’ll browse through local craft markets teeming with handmade jewelry and traditional Indigenous toy creations. You'll also encounter some vibrant murals of urban art and engage in a discussion about the street food culture in Coyoacán.
Your complimentary walking tour of Coyoacán will conclude in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes of engaging exploration.
