Description

Embark on a journey to discover some of Mexico City's most enchanting locations, including the charming neighborhood of Coyoacán with its quaint cobblestone streets and colonial allure; Xochimilco, famous for its vibrant canals and traditional trajineras; and the renowned Frida Kahlo Museum, the iconic Blue House where the celebrated artist spent her life.

Note: This activity is popular and tends to book up quickly! If the date you wish to go is fully reserved, you might want to explore a guided tour featuring both the Frida Kahlo and Leon Trotsky museums.

Tour Overview

We'll commence our adventure after gathering at a convenient location in the heart of the city, heading southward from Mexico City to Coyoacán, one of the oldest districts in the capital. This area has been a residence for notable figures such as Leon Trotsky, Octavio Paz, Diego Rivera, and Frida Kahlo.

Upon arrival in Coyoacán, we will delve into the area's rich history, tracing back to when the first communities settled in the Mesoamerican highlands and its subsequent prominence following the conquest by the Spanish. There will also be time for you to grab breakfast.

As we stroll along the charming cobbled streets and visit picturesque squares, we will appreciate its magnificent 16th-century Baroque mansions. A highlight of our tour will be our visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum, located within the famous Casa Azul. Here, we will gain insight into the personal realm of the influential Latin American artist by exploring the space where she was born, created notable works, and passed away.

Next, our journey continues in Xochimilco, where we will appreciate its remarkable blend of cultural and natural heritage. We will board a trajinera, a small traditional boat adorned with flowers, allowing us to glide through the canals and artificial islands that have earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a typical Mexican lunch independently.

Finally, after a day filled with exploration lasting around 9 hours, we will conclude our tour and return to the original meeting point in Mexico City.

Tour with Lunch Option

Opting for this alternative allows for a richer experience! In addition to the previously mentioned itinerary, you will enjoy a regional lunch at a local eatery upon your arrival in Xochimilco.

Hotel Pickup Information

When booking, you may select the tour without lunch and with hotel pickup. In this scenario, we will arrange pickup at selected hotels located in the Polanco, Reforma, Roma-Condesa, and Historic Centre areas. If you are staying elsewhere and on your booking day there are no pickups available for your location, you will need to reach the meeting point at the Cancino Cibeles restaurant.

Potential Itinerary Adjustments

Please be aware that due to logistical reasons, the sequence of the visits may be altered. Furthermore, if you select the tour encompassing the Frida Kahlo Museum, the schedule might adjust based on the museum's availability.
