Description
Embark on a journey through seven centuries of Mexico City's rich history with this informative guided tour of the Historic Centre. You'll have the opportunity to explore iconic sites including the Cathedral, the ancient hospital recognized as the oldest in the Americas, and the place where Moctezuma and Cortés famously met.
Historic Centre Guided Tour
Our adventure begins at the appointed hour outside the McDonald's located in the Plaza de la Constitución, where we will start our walking tour through the historic heart of Mexico City. Our first destination is the Templo Mayor archaeological site, which showcases the sacred remnants of the Great Temple.
From there, we will proceed to the Metropolitan Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage monument. We will also take time to stroll around the Plaza de la Constitución, commonly known as the Zócalo, which derives its name from the Cadiz Constitution of 1812.
Next, we’ll step back into the 17th century, marveling at the stunning architecture of two splendid mansions nestled within the historic centre. These remarkable buildings are sure to impress! Following this, we’ll make our way to admire the exteriors of the Palace of Fine Arts and the National Art Museum.
To conclude our tour, we will visit the exterior of the Postal Palace, a stunning structure built in the 20th century. Our guided experience will come to a close in this vibrant area of Mexico City, lasting a total of 3 hours.
