Los Pinos Cultural Complex Tour
Description
If you're in Mexico City and keen to uncover the hidden treasures of the former presidential residence, this visit to the Los Pinos Cultural Complex is an opportunity you shouldn't miss.
Description
At the scheduled time, we’ll gather at Avenida de la República, commencing our adventure toward the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, nestled in the center of Chapultepec Forest, the capital’s green oasis.
For many years, this establishment served as the official residence for Mexican presidents. Although constructed near the conclusion of the 19th century, it wasn't until 1935 that it welcomed its first inhabitant. Lázaro Cárdenas was the pioneer who began his stay shortly after his election.
Since its inception as a presidential home, approximately 14 leaders have resided here, with the last occupant being Enrique Peña, who governed from 2012 to 2018. To better understand the lifestyle of these leaders, we'll navigate through the premises, appreciating its intricate details. Our exploration will include key areas such as the meeting rooms, living areas, cinema room, and the balcony, among various other spaces within this expansive residence.
As part of our experience, we will meander through the sophisticated gardens, adorned with a range of statues and monuments. These artworks commemorate historical figures including Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and José María Morelos y Pavón, both of whom are part of Los Pinos' legacy.
To enrich our journey, we will travel for about 20 to 30 minutes on the Cablebus to the Constituyentes subway station located in the Santa Fe area.
Finally, as the tour comes to an end, we will return to our starting location, where we will part ways after an engaging 6-hour exploration.
