Our journey commences at the entrance of the Museo Universitario del Chopo at the scheduled time, where we will kick off this exploration of the Santa María la Ribera area. Ready to unveil a surprising facet of Mexico City? Let’s get going!
We will take a moment to appreciate the industrial architecture of the museum from the outside, which showcases contemporary art exhibitions and stands as a symbol of the city's rich popular culture.
As we meander through the streets of Santa María la Ribera, we’ll observe how this district harmoniously merges tradition with modern influences. Our journey leads us to the neighborhood's core: the Alameda, where we'll encounter the celebrated Kiosco Morisco. This monument, characterized by its Moorish architecture, represents one of the finest examples of eclectic design in Mexico!
On Saturdays, we will also make a stop at the Tianguis Cultural del Chopo, a vibrant hub for enthusiasts of music, alternative fashion, and artistic movements. Surrounded by records, vintage apparel, and handmade crafts, we will immerse ourselves in the distinctive vibe that this place offers!
Our 2-hour walking tour will conclude in the Alameda, as we bid farewell and reflect on our shared experiences.
