Day of the Dead Trajinera Boat Experience in Xochimilco
Our adventure begins at Canal 237 in Xochimilco, where you will embark on a vibrantly decorated trajinera adorned with marigold flowers, a significant symbol in Nahuatl culture believed to guide spirits returning to the living world.
While navigating the canals, you will savor traditional sweets and an open bar, featuring a delightful pulque tasting infused with marigold flavors. Along the way, a knowledgeable guide will share insights into the pre-Hispanic roots of Xochimilco, and the profound importance of the Day of the Dead celebration.
Next, we will visit a traditional chinampa, a man-made island, to explore Aztec agricultural practices and enjoy another tasting of local pulque. The boat ride will proceed with group interactions, engaging activities, and lively music, ensuring a memorable experience on this special occasion.
