You have the option to select from two unique tour experiences upon booking. Both packages include pickup at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, roundtrip transportation, a guided hike through the enchanting jungle, and lunch beside the waterfall.

Here are the specifications for each tour:

La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip (9 hours)

Your day will begin with a timely pickup at the Atabey Hotel in Miches. After leaving this charming coastal town, we will journey towards the La Loma community.

Upon arrival in this picturesque and verdant area, we will set out on a scenic hike through the Dominican jungle. During our trek, you will encounter a diverse array of tropical flora, including stunning orchids, as well as numerous cacao and coffee farms.

After a 2-hour trek, we will reach Salto de La Jalda, celebrated as one of the Dominican Republic’s most breathtaking waterfalls. This spectacular waterfall plunges over 120 meters (400 feet), offering a perfect spot for a refreshing swim in its natural pool. The waters, sourced from the Northern Cordillera, are crystal clear and inviting.

Next, we will pause for a picnic lunch at the waterfall. Once we've enjoyed our meal, we will make our way back to the La Loma community, where we will have the opportunity to sample traditional homemade fruit wine alongside water or a soft drink, complemented with chocolate and sweet and salty cookies.

Finally, we will return to the Atabey Hotel in Miches, concluding our day of adventure after approximately 9 hours.

La Jalda Waterfall + Montaña Redonda Day Trip (10.5 hours)

If you opt for this extended tour, we will follow the same route as described until we reach the community of La Loma. However, instead of heading straight back to Miches after the hike, we will proceed to Montaña Redonda, located just 30 minutes away.

At Montaña Redonda, we will ascend to enjoy an unforgettable sunset. The views from the summit are spectacular, featuring the panoramic bay of Samana, the vibrant green jungle landscapes, and the vast ocean stretches in the distance. You'll also have a chance to capture memorable moments on the iconic swings and hammocks, providing a delightful conclusion to the day.

After spending about an hour at Montaña Redonda, we will make our way back to Miches, arriving approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes after our adventure began.
