Tour Details
Our meeting point will be centrally located at the scheduled time to commence this engaging walking tour of Milan.
As we proceed, we will marvel at the stunning facade of the Milan Cathedral, recognized as one of the largest religious structures globally. The intricacies of its Gothic architecture are astonishing! Have you heard about the Madonnina located at the top, symbolically watching over the citizens of Milan?
Adjacent to the cathedral lies the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a 19th-century arcade originally created for the affluent. More than 170 plans were submitted by architects, but it was Giuseppe Mengoni whose vision came to life. The magnificent cast-iron and glass arches offer a breathtaking sight.
Continuing through this elegant passage, you will encounter Teatro alla Scala, one of the world's preeminent opera houses, which was the first to operate with electric lighting.
As we explore the historic core of Milan, we will also appreciate other notable structures such as the Basilica of San Nazaro in Brolo and Sforza Castle. Depending on the time of year, we might glimpse the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. While we won't access the inside, we will delve into the story of its renowned artwork: The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.
After approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to 3 hours, we will conclude our free walking tour of Milan back in the city center.
