The Industrial and Handicraft Textile Museum (MIAT), housed within a re-purposed carpet factory in central Portugal, offers a glimpse into the past through its extensive collection of traditional tools and industrial machinery used in the transformation of wool.
During your guided exploration of the MIAT, you will uncover the rich narrative surrounding the golden era of Portuguese textiles, particularly when Mira de Aire and its neighboring town, Minde, were at the forefront of this industry in the 20th century.

Visiting Hours
The MIAT welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10 am and 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm. Guided tours are conducted every hour, or you may choose to explore the museum independently at your convenience.
