Bosque dos Visitantes Tree Planting
Description
Make a meaningful contribution to the ecosystem of the Miranda Pantanal by participating in a tree planting initiative within the Bosque dos Visitantes, a program focused on safeguarding endemic plant species.
Activity Overview
The renowned Cuban poet José Martí highlighted three significant goals everyone should aim to achieve at least once in their lifetime: have a child, write a book, and… plant a tree! To fulfill the last of these tasks, we will gather at the Miranda bus terminal.
Within the terminal, we will uncover the background of Bosque dos Visitantes, an ecotourism initiative committed to preserving native species essential for the environmental recovery of the Pantanal region.
Following this introduction, we will detail the steps for the planting process, allowing you to select a tree to plant from the available options: ipê, carandá, aroeira, jacarandá, or others, depending on what is in season.
We will then stroll over to the Bosque dos Visitantes, which is situated just 50 meters (164 ft) from the bus terminal. Upon arrival, we will engage in various stages of planting, including: digging the hole, placing the tree with its roots correctly, and providing it with its initial watering.
At the conclusion of this activity, we will celebrate your involvement in this conservation effort before returning to our starting point, wrapping up this engaging 30- to 40-minute experience.
