At the designated time, you'll be picked up at your hotel in Mombasa, and the journey through the past of this Kenyan city will begin. Prepare to explore the Old Town of Mombasa and Fort Jesus—it’s an excellent way to learn about Mombasa's history!
Mombasa is one of the main cities in Kenya. On this tour, you will explore the country's rich history, culture, and traditions. First, we will stroll around the Old Town of Mombasa, following the footprints left behind by Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, Asian, Portuguese, and British cultures.
As you travel back to the 13th century, you will see buildings that transport you to that period. This neighborhood is filled with houses, markets, and temples that reflect the rich cultural heritage present in its streets, such as its mosques, Hindu temples, and buildings exhibiting a distinct Swahili architecture.
Following this, you will pass by the iconic Mombasa Tusk arcs, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Make sure to take a picture! Our exploration continues as we reach Fort Jesus, a Portuguese bastion from the 16th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which marked a pivotal point in the history of Mombasa.
Upon entering the fort, you will learn how this historic site played a crucial role in the history of Mombasa while strolling along its murals and towers.
Ultimately, this tour concludes after 3 hours at the entrance of Fort Jesus.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes pickup from hotels located on the northern coast of Mombasa (Nyali) and on the island of Mombasa. If you are staying in another area, the meeting point will be at Camel's Joint Fort.
Please note that the tour ends at Fort Jesus, not at your hotel or the meeting point.

On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up at your hotel on the northern coast of Mombasa (Nyali) and on the island of Mombasa at the designated time.
If you're staying on the southern coast of Mombasa, we'll meet at Camel's Joint Fort, located at WMQH+7PW, Ndia Kuu Rd, Mombasa, Kenya. You can check the exact location at the following Google Maps link.
In both cases, please be ready at least 15 minutes before the activity begins.
We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat or cap, and comfortable clothing that is not too revealing.
